Wine Estate Profile
The farm on the Simonsberg slopes in Stellenbosch was run down when Murray and Juliet Boustred bought it in 1994. Now it’s a thriving family estate with their two sons firmly in place: Chris in cellar and vineyards, Rob driving sales and marketing. Winemaking has become more non-interventionist, and as part of the aim to reflect the estate’s terroir there’s a return to ‘looking at blends as the way forward’, signalled by the revival of the Estate Blend which from 2013 will include all four red varieties grown.
